Are you being pushed around by your boss or staff?
I was bullied at school by one of the other teachers.
She was really nasty to me, but she was very sly and
manipulative. Other teachers, even the headmaster couldn’t
see what was going on. Gradually she convinced others
that I was incompetent. Although I loved my job, I
became increasingly stressed, even physically sick.
In the end I couldn’t do my job and had to go
on sick leave. I didn’t want to leave the house.
I became a changed person.
Counselling helped me work through this
whole long and painful story and understand how it
affected my identity. Gradually I am rebuilding my
life. My self-esteem is recovering and I have been
able to get a new job. I’ve learnt how to ensure
that I am never affected by bullies again.
